At the Kalmor Institute we take your privacy very seriously. The type and amount of personal information we collect varies depending on the nature of our engagement with you. In all circumstances, we are highly cognisant of the trust you place in us by approaching and engaging with the Kalmor Institute and we honour this trust in our approach to privacy and confidentiality. All our people are highly experienced, senior practitioners and have long careers which have required absolutely professionalism and integrity.

Outlined below is our privacy policy as it relates to information we collect from our consulting and advisory, training and development and coaching work performed in person or via telephone; our electronic learning platforms; website enquiries; and through any other means of direct communication between yourself and the Kalmor Institute.

Regarding data collected in any country belonging to the European Union or data collected from any citizen of such country, the Kalmor Institute applies privacy and security standards consistent with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

In Australia, the Kalmor Institute respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Personal information we collect.

In relation to our website, the following non-identifiable information is automatically collected for statistical and analysis purposes only.

• the date and time our server received the request,

• the pages, documents and files visited,

• the Internet Protocol address,

• the address of the resource which linked you to our website,

• the type of browser and, in some cases, the operating system used,

• in some cases, data you send to our website from web forms (eg search terms).

Reports are produced from the data, which provides information such as usage patterns and popular areas of the website, that are used to improve the user website experience.

In relation to our training and education and our coaching and on-on-one work as well as some organisational advisory work we collect the following information.

• Name.

• Title or role.

• Name of workplace or organisation.

• Contact details such as email address and telephone number.

We may also collect information relating to workplace or organisation culture, leadership, policies, strengths, vulnerabilities, and other points which support the intervention we are engaged or being considered to engage work on.

The Kalmor Institute does not collect sensitive information revealing your race, ethnic origin, political opinion, sexual preference, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, marital status or details of health or disability. We may collect gender identification information for the purposes of some interventions.

How we use information we collect, its purpose.

The information we collect is used for very specific purposes. It may be used:

• to inform consulting and advisory interventions; training and education programs; e-learning programs, coaching and one-one-one work and/or forums, as required;

• to diagnose organisational issues;

• to tailor our services to your very specific needs;

• to provide informational material on current and topical issues in your industry or community of work or operation;

• to evaluate our services;

• for benchmarking purposes;

• to maintain contact with our clients and other contacts (including alumni), and keep them informed of industry developments, seminars, and other events;

• for administrative purposes such as billing; and

• to analyse our offerings and their value so we can provide services that best meet your needs.

Sub-contractor or alliance partners who have access to private information held by the Kalmor Institute are required to commit and bind themselves to the same privacy undertakings as the Kalmor Institute.

We will not disclose personal information about you to any person or organisation unless we are under legal obligation to do so.

We do not sell lists or provide information about you to mailing houses or other organisations.

Information regarding your views on workplace or organisation culture, leadership, policies, strengths, vulnerabilities, and other points provided by you, and which support the intervention we are engaged to deliver or being considered to engaged to deliver will never, under any circumstances, be released to any other person or be used in a way that may be individually attributable to you.  

Information regarding your views on workplace or organisation culture, leadership, policies, strengths, vulnerabilities, and other points provided by you, and which support the intervention we are engaged or being considered to engage work on is usually collected for the purposes of intervention tailoring and refinement. Where this data is collected for the purposes of diagnosis, evaluation, and other reporting requirements, it is always aggregated and depersonalised before being used.

Holding of and access to your information.

The Kalmor Institute takes reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information is protected from unauthorised access or disclosure.

All sub-contractors, and alliance partners who have access to private information held by the Kalmor Institute are required to commit and bind themselves to the same privacy and confidentiality undertakings as staff of the Kalmor Institute.

The Kalmor Institute aims to ensure all personal information collected is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. Complaints.

If you wish to make a complaint about the way the Kalmor Institute has handled your personal information, please contact the privacy officer at The Kalmor Institute on the details below. We will endeavour to reply to any complaint within 21 days of receipt and wherever possible will advise you of the reasons for the outcome of the complaint. While we hope that we will be able to resolve any complaints you may have without needing to involve third parties, if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
