Case study: Exploitation and sabotage of Dr Mitchell’s book
Human Predators through collusion of:
Andre Breedt International ISBN Agency Chairman
Shawn Morin IngramSpark President/CEO
David Scott Woodslane Founder
Michael Hanrahan Self-publishing consultant
Human Predators contains the world’s most precise and accurate information on how to ‘see’ those who harm and exploit by choice.
It is based on the largest study ever undertaken of our global knowledge on those who harm and exploit by choice and the first research with experts working long term with predators outside prison and their victims.
Human Predators makes those driven to control, exploit, deceive and destroy by choice, exponentially easier to identify.
Human Predators has been sabotaged internationally by predators in the publishing industry.
This is the story of why and how it’s been done.
(Note that while the data presented here provides a compelling case, some information has been held back for the purposes of litigation)
Brief Background on the Book - Human Predators
What’s Human Predators About?
Dr Mitchell’s book, Human Predators, is based on the largest study ever conducted of our global knowledge of those who harm by choice. Link to research.
Human Predators is also based on the ONLY study ever undertaken with experts working long term with dark personalities (predators) outside the justice system and their victims, as well as those working in the justice system such as the FBI agent who have caught the highest number of serial killers. Link to research.
Human Predators contains the most comprehensive, nuanced representation of human predators in existence. It makes dark personalities much easier to ‘see’. See the model.
Human Predators has been described as ‘the bible’ on how to ‘see’ dangerous people, particularly those who are higher functioning, like doctors, lawyers, publishers, academics, executives. It’s the world’s best opportunity to prevent harm, conflict, and despair. Some of the thousands of positive comments about Dr Mitchell’s work can be found here.
This book is the culmination of Dr Mitchell’s:
5 year full-time PhD program;
2 year full-time book writing;
30-year career to date of working with executive groups internationally on complex and controversial change agendas, involving predators;
60 years of personal lived experience targeted by predators in different contexts. See one example here. ; and
20 years of advocacy in the family court where predators are often driving agendas.
Pre-sale demand for Human Predators
Dr Mitchell’s work has a substantial following from journalists and high audience podcasters internationally.
Her work has a large following on several social media platforms, and amongst several professional and expert populations internationally.
The book was in high demand when it was published.
Huge Sales Potential
Human Predators had the largest number of pre-orders that Australia’s largest distributor of independent books, Woodslane, had ever received.
This book was going to make a lot of sales. Hanrahan knew this.
Publishing approach to Human Predators
Dr Mitchell elected to self-publish to reduce the risk of sabotage by human predators in the publishing industry.
She engaged Michael Hanrahan, a one-man-band with a consultancy called PublishCentral, to help with issues like typeface selection, printing etc.
Book Release Timing Paramount
Considerable resources were spent by Dr Mitchell to coincide with the launch of Human Predators. This included Dr Mitchell’s first podcast series, an advertising campaign, a media campaign and an international podcast guest speaker campaign.
Hundreds of hours were also committed to maintaining and building presence on social media platforms in preparation for the launch.
The date of availability of the book, both in bookstores but importantly online suppliers like Amazon, was therefore crucial.
This case study demonstrates excessive and unreasonable delays, sabotaging of availability, ‘playing with sales’ and collusion of all parties such that they have full control of all book proceeds, distribution, sales and availability.
Key Players in This Case Study of Control and Exploitation
1. Andre Breedt (Chairman of the International ISBN Agency - the regulatory body)
The International ISBN Agency oversees the integrity of the worldwide ISBN book numbering system.
Every book has an identifier number, an ISBN number.
The aim of the ISBN numbering system is to maintain book consistency and avoid confusion.
Each ISBN number has metadata (eg contact name, contact details) associated with it.
Book stores, libraries, retailers who want to get copies of a book have to track down the ISBN number metadata to get it.
Where do merchants get book metadata? NielsonIQ BookData UK & Ireland.
The International ISBN Agency was set up by an independent, non-government body, so there is no accountability outside the industry. The publishing industry polices itself!
2. Andre Breedt (CEO of NielsonIQ BookData UK & Ireland – the ISBN data management body)
The metadata which retailers, bookstores, libraries and others must access to stock a book is maintained and provided by NielsonIQ BookData UK and Ireland.
The CEO of NielsonIQ BookData UK and Ireland is the same person as the chairman of the International ISBN Agency, Andre Breedt.
MAJOR CONFLICT OF INTEREST – ANDRE BREEDT
There is no independent regulator for the publishing industry.
Breedt has a serious conflict of interest as the Chair of the watchdog AND the gate keeper for information relating to every book ever published.
PUBLISHING INDUSTRY
Breedt has 100% control of books and publications internationally
Breedt can publish whatever he wants, bury whatever he wants, ask for whatever he wants – through the international ISBN system.
All aspects of the publishing industry are open to abuse given the boundless power of key players with no independent accountability.
3. Michael Hanrahan (Australian consultant ‘helping’ authors self-publish)
Hanrahan is based in coastal NSW, Australia. His consultancy is called PublishCentral.
Hanrahan’s webpage, ironically, reads: “Your Book, Your Way”
Dr Mitchell appointed and paid Hanrahan to assist with some functions of self-publishing including proof reading, selection of typeface, printing, and notifying distributors.
Dr Mitchell was clear with Hanrahan that she was self-publishing because she wanted to maintain full control of her book.
Dr Mitchell’s lawyers established her own publishing company (Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd) and imprint (Precinct Publications) for this purpose.
4. Shawn Morin (President and CEO of Ingram Content Group, sales platform for Amazon)
Ingram Content Group is a major U.S.-based book distribution and publishing services company.
IngramSpark is a subsidiary of the Group which organises the sale of books on Amazon and other online sales platforms.
Hanrahan created an account for Dr Mitchell’s publishing company with IngramSpark.

5. David Scott (Founder, CEO of Woodslane, Australian independent book distributor)
Woodslane is the largest distributor of self-published authors in Australia and New Zealand.
Woodslane sells and distributes to hard copy and electronic bookstores, including Amazon AUS and NZ and bookstores such as Booktopia and Dymocks.
6. Dr Mitchell’s Publishing Company
Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd (IP owner, financier, insurer, marketer, publisher of Human Predators)
A publishing company established for Dr Mitchell’s by her lawyers for the publication of Human Predators and other publications.
Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd is printed on the first few pages of Human Predators.
Precinct Publications (Imprint of Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd)
An imprint established by Dr Mitchell’s lawyers under her publishing company, Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd.
Precinct Publications is printed on the spine and first few pages of Human Predators.
The ISBN numbers for Human Predators are:
Ebook: 978-1-923630-39-0
Paperback: 978-1-923630-42-0
Audio: 978-1-923630-58-1
Harback: 978-1-923630-62-8

(Chronological, summarised, some evidence omitted for legal purposes)
Michael Hanrahan, PublishCentral – predatory behaviours include blocking, delaying, manipulating, controlling, exploiting, entitlement.
Background
Hanrahan provided Dr Mitchell with a quote here. for $15,895.00. There was no contract, just terms and conditions with the set price quote.
Hanrahan knew Dr Mitchell did not seek a commercial publisher because she wanted to maintain full control of the book.
Hanrahan arranged layout and printing of the book which contained the name and logo of Dr Mitchell’s publishing company on the spine and front pages.
Commencement of predatory behaviours
MANIPULATION
Hanrahan did NOT advise, either in writing or verbally, that he would put the ISBN book identifier numbers for Human Predators in HIS name.
Hanrahan used his ownISBN numbers that recognised him as the publisher (and later distributor) of Human Predators for the lifetime of the book, in all its versions.
The NielsonID ISBN Agency advised on the 10th July ‘Had Precinct Publications [Dr Mitchell’s publishing company] purchased its own ISBNs from the relevant national ISBN agency, it could still have used Publish Central's services while supplying its own ISBNs for publication’.
HANRAHAN:
KNEW THE BOOK WOULD HAVE A HIGH SALES VOLUME. IT HAD THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF PREORDERS OF ANY INDEPENDENT BOOK BEFORE IT HAD EVEN BEEN PRINTED
KNEW DR MITCHELL HAD A HIGH PROFILE AND PLANNED TO DO A SUBSTANTIAL INTERNATIONAL PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
UNDERSTOOD DR MITCHELL WAS COMMITTING SUBSTANTIAL RESOURCES TO ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION
FAILED TO ADVISE DR MITCHELL TO BUY HER OWN ISBN NUMBERS WITH FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPLICATIONS AND DESPITE HER STATED POINT THAT SHE WANTED TO MAINTAIN FULL CONTROL OF THE BOOK.
Further examples of Hanrahan’s predatory behaviours are included here.
Note that one or two issues outlined here might be the result of disorganisation, expediency etc.
There is a point where the number of issues is so high as to be clearly intentional and part of a predatory pattern.
As you read this and other sections, particularly that of IngramSpark, the collusion and manipulation becomes undeniable.
Hanrahan had the income for book sales in AUS and NZ deposited into his own account.
Dr Mitchell has not received a cent for books sold in Australia and NZ since sales commenced in June 2026.
Hanrahan manipulated circumstances to try and have all Amazon sale proceeds internationally put into his own account (see email below). When Dr Mitchell did not agree to this, he colluded with IngramSpark to have Dr Mitchell’s IngramSpark account cancelled and put in his name so the proceeds of Human Predators from International Amazon sales would to be paid directly to Hanrahan anyway.
(Evidence is provided in the IngramSpark section that follows)Hanrahan avoided discussing issues associated with monetary return to the client (see emails below).
Hanrahan failed to provide full transparency regards issues associated with monetary return to the client (see emails below).
Hanrahan pushed strongly for verbal communication and avoided written documentation until it was finally demanded by Dr Mitchell (see email below).
Hanrahan took further actions (personally and by proxy) to delay, block, manipulate and control book availability and income including the following examples.
Hanrahan withheld important information.
(eg ISBN number ownership, that the book was not available on Amazon internationally until weeks AFTER Amazon Australia which had implications for launch publicity investment and timing)
Hanrahan, in collusion with others, blocked Dr Mitchell’s access and ability to control book management.
(eg Hanrahan, in collusion with IngramSpark, locked Dr Mitchell out of her own account management facility and continued to control and manipulate Dr Mitchell’s book. See IngramSpark section).Hanrahan failed to provide clarity regarding deadlines.
(see emails below).Hanrahan purposely created work for Dr Mitchell prolonging the process.
(eg Inserting errors into the typeset book AFTER Hanrahan’s professional proofreading was done. This resulted in hundreds of hours of additional time for Dr Mitchell in rechecking the 120,000-word manuscript. This happened multiple times. See Hanrahan’s email of acknowledgement below.)Hanrahan engaged in extensive manipulation of book availability internationally in collusion with IngramSpark.
(see IngramSpark section).Hanrahan asserted Dr Mitchell had taken unreasonable time in addressing issues to try and distance himself from problems when he had never indicated any timeline, due date or implications.
(See email below).Hanrahan created unusual, unnecessary and excessive reasons for delays personally and in collusion with others.
(See IngramSpark section).Hanrahan in collusion with Woodslane, manipulated, sabotaged and exploited the book’s availability in Australia and New Zealand.
(see Woodslane section).Hanrahan, in collusion with the International ISBN agency, sabotaged Dr Mitchell’s ability to control the book.
(see International ISBN Agency section)
Correspondence: Hanrahan creating critical delays
Hanrahan was being paid to proofread the book. Yet errors AFTER his ‘professional’ proof reading demanded hundreds of extra hours from Dr Mitchell in multiple further proofreadings of the 120,000 word manuscript. Some errors were not minor, accidental errors. They were the deliberate removal of words.
Hanrahan acknowledges the issues, but they continued.
Correspondence: Hanrahan withholding critical information
Examples of emails indicating a pattern of Hanrahan failing to provide information about deadlines, potential delays, implications of decisions etc which pushed out book availability with substantial negative implications.
Correspondence: Hanrahan focuses on verbal communication (no accountability)
This email shows Dr Mitchell finally insisting that issues are addressed in writing. Predatory behaviour focuses on lack of evidence so verbal communication focus is common. Hanrahan was often insistent on phone discussion.
Correspondence: Hanrahan angling to have Amazon sales proceeds directed to his account.
Under the guise of being ‘helpful’, and ever so politely, Hanrahan tries to have control of the book internationally moved across to his business (PublishCentral) and removed from Dr Mitchell’s publishing company, having created numerous unnecessary delays to force this situation.
Manipulation and control
Despite being pushed into a corner by Hanrahan, Dr Mitchell does not agree to place the book into Hanrahan’s business name for international Amazon sales as he ‘suggests’.
Within 4 weeks Hanrahan has full control of Human Predator sales internationally following an extraordinary show of collusion with IngramSpark (see next section).
Dr Mitchell forwarded correspondence to Hanrahan on the 21st June suggesting ways the issues might be addressed. There was no response.
Dr Mitchell’s lawyers forwarded correspondence to Harahan on the 30th June 2026 severing his services. Hanrahan replied “we are talking to our lawyers and will have info for you within the next couple of days” (see below). Hanrahan did not respond in 2 days or even 22 days.
The lawyers also wrote to Andrew Guy of Woodslane on 30th June directing them to work with Dr Mitchell. Woodslane said “We will need to await PublishCentral’s instructions” (see below).
IngramSpark - predatory behaviours (eg blocking, delaying, bullying, manipulating, lying, controlling, entitlement, low regard for laws regulations and agreements as well as social and moral codes)
Background
An account for Dr Mitchell’s publishing company, Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd, was established with IngramSpark by Hanrahan.
Huge financial commitment to promotion of Human Predators
Considerable resources were spent on and committed to the launch of Human Predators by Dr Mitchell. The date of book availability was therefore crucial. Hanrahan said the book would be available (ebook and print-on-demand) on Amazon by June 16th, 2026. Dr Mitchell scheduled around that.
IngramSpark predatory behaviours
On June 11th Hanrahan said IngramSpark required proof of identity which he said rarely ever happens. Dr Mitchell oddly had to provide her passport to IngramSpark. Everything stalled.
On June 19th, 2026 IngramSpark emailed Dr Mitchell: “Dear Publisher, Your account is currently pending validation, which is why some features may be unavailable….”.
Dr Mitchell was AGAIN asked for photo ID.
Human Predators was put onto the Amazon platform by late June but every manipulation possible was engaged in by IngramSpark.
Extensive Manipulation by Ingramspark of Human Predators Availability and Distibution
When it became available on Amazon international in late June 2026, Human Predators:
Was listed with Amazon UK and US then removed countless times which did not follow normal book population patterns.
Was unusually hard to find in a search.
Was unable to be purchased once a sales process was commenced.
Had particularly long lead times.
Was advertised as temporarily out of stock.
Was advertising as launching in 2027.
Predators love to ‘play with the heads’ of people they are targeting. They were having a great laugh at Dr Mitchell’s expense.
There were substantial enquiries from customers in the UK and Europe with concerns they were unable to buy the book on Amazon during this period.
The amount of orchestrated manipulations was extreme.
PLAYING WITH HUMAN PREDATORS AVAILABILITY AND DISTRIBUTION: EXAMPLES
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TRACKED INTERMITTENT AVAILABILITY
AI kept track of the fluctuations in availability
CLIENT FEEDBACK SHOWS ISSUES WITH DISTRIBUTION AND AVAILABILITY
“I have checked both the US and all the European platforms and it is an absolute mess. When I try to buy it from the US it says it won’t ship to my address (I am in Spain) – of course with other products it works fine. In UK, Germany, Italy and France all the sellers of the book are fraudulent – I have checked them and they all have really bad reviews (books don’t arrive)….In Amazon Spain, the book is not even there.”
Amazon UK 13th July: morning IS available, afternoon IS NOT available
DIFFICULT TO LOCATE HUMAN PREDATORS IN SEARCHES
“You may want to configure your SEO differently to help people find your book or it is being shadow-banned is my guess”
“When you search for Dr Karen Mitchell Human Predators nothing comes up.”
“Adding in ‘Dr’ was enough to hide it.”
UNABLE TO COMPLETE SALES PURCHASES OF HUMAN PREDATORS
“USA says they will ship to Canada but they won’t let us complete the sales process.”
REFUNDING HUMAN PREDATORS CUSTOMERS THEIR MONEY
PLAYING WITH ‘SHIPPING AVAILABILITY’ OF HUMAN PREDATORS
On the 24th June, 2026 Human Predators was available in the US yet when this person tried to order it they got a message saying it was unavailable for shipment to their country.
PLAYING WITH RELEASE DATES OF HUMAN PREDATORS
This person was told the release of Human Predators was not until between Dec 27 - March 27. It was released June 26.
LONG LEAD TIMES FOR HUMAN PREDATORS
Dispatched within 1-3 months
“NO RESULTS FOR YOUR SEARCH QUERY”
“TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK”
“…MY ORIGINAL ORDER HAS BEEN DELIVERED – THE OTHER 4 NOT. NO OTHER INFO FROM AMAZON.”
“I CALLED AMAZON ABOUT THE BOOK AND THEIR RESPONSE DID NOT MAKE SENSE.”
AT TIMES HUMAN PREDATORS WAS COMPLETELY REMOVED FROM AMAZON
MOSTLY THOUGH THE BOOK HAS SHOWN “OUT OF STOCK” SO CUSTOMERS GAVE UP
Hanrahan's services were terminated on 30th June, 2026. Dr Mitchell changed the password on her IngramSpark account, so Hanrahan no longer had access.
INGRAMSPARK BREACHING RULES, LAWS, CODES, AGREEMENTS
Within 24 hours of Dr Mitchell severing Hanrahan’s services and changing the password on her IngramSpark publisher account so Hanrahan could not access it:
IngramSpark removed Dr Mitchell’s access to the Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd account metadata, blocking Dr Mitchell’s capacity to list and sell publications or manage data relating to Human Predators. This block has never been removed.
IngramSpark removed Dr Mitchell’s ebook from sale.
IngramSpark blocked Dr Mitchell’s ability to have the hard cover copy of her book sold on Amazon internationally.
IngramSpark removed Dr Mitchell’s soft cover book from sale on Amazon UK.
IngramSpark commenced copying Hanrahan into emails to Dr Mitchell which had not been done previously.
After removing Hanrahan’s access to her IngramSpark account further issues occurred as Dr Mitchell tried to get access of her book back.
Having been blocked from trading with Amazon, Dr Mitchell tried to establish an alternative IngramSpark account to trade on Amazon. This was blocked.
Attempts to establish an account with Amazon’s direct publishing arm, Kindle Direct Publishing, were also blocked because of the existing account with IngramSpark.
On June 27th 2026 Dr Mitchell received correspondence from IngramSpark that said: “In review of your request to retain the above-referenced account….”. No request to retain that account had ever been made. Dr Mitchell had set up another account.
In the same correspondence on June 27th IngramSpark wrote: “… we identified that the business or legal address listed on your account is associated with a mail forwarding provider…..Please update this address to your physical residential or business address...”
The account address was not associated with a mail forwarding provider. The address was never-the-less changed for the sake of forward movement.
Regardless, seven days later on July 4th, a further email was received from IngramSpark requesting the address be changed.
Following receipt of the 4th July email, Dr Mitchell wrote to IngramSpark explaining the address had been changed within an hour of the request being made. Dr Mitchell also outlined her concerns regarding the actions taken by IngramSpark, including, but not limited to:
blocking account data and functionality access,
prohibiting ability to trade,
manipulating book availability,
failure to engage, and
collusion with Hanrahan.
It was also noted that several emails were sent to IngramSpark during this period that were not answered.
Three weeks later (24th July) IngramSpark sent a response to Dr Mitchell’s saying only: “We are unable to verify the information provided. Pursuant of Section 4.2, we have elected to terminate your IngramSpark agreement. Your account will now be closed.”
INGRAMSPARK’S COLLUSION WITH HANRAHAN TO CONTROL DR MITCHELL AND HUMAN PREDATORS
On the same day IngramSpark informed Dr Mitchell that her Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd publisher account was to be arbitrarily closed, IngramSpark changed the publisher of Human Predators from Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd to Hanrahan’s consultancy, PublishCentral on Amazon internationally.
INGRAMSPARK BLOCKING DR MITCHELL’S ABILITY TO TRADE
IngramSpark never closed Dr Mitchell’s Blake and Nashville account as stated.
This meant Dr Mitchell was unable to trade directly with Amazon.
Despite several pieces of correspondence to the legal department requesting the account be closed and despite IngramSpark saying they would close it, the account remains in place today, blocking Dr Mitchell’s ability to sell her book on Amazon.
On the 28th July 2026 Dr Mitchell wrote to the IngramSpark legal team seeking removal of Human Predators from the platforms they distributed to (including Amazon).
The IngramSpark legal department agreed (see email below)
BUT they did not remove it. IngramSpark maintained Amazon UK sales
Hanrahan KEPT SELLING the book internationally from Amazon UK (see screenshots below).
MANIPULATIONS BY INGRAMSPARK – BOOK AVAILABILITY
IngramSpark said they would remove Human Predators from their sales platform but what they did was:
retain Human Predators on the Amazon platform in the US but said it was “Out of print” so people just kept waiting
kept selling it in the UK through Hanrahan with international mailing including to the US.
MANIPULATION BY INGRAMSPARK – EARNINGS FOR CLIENT
On the 28th July, 4 days after Dr Mitchell’s was notified her IngramSpark account was to be termination, the number of book sales listed on the IngramSpark Blake and Nashville Pty Ltd Account reduced by 42%!
MANIPULATIONS BY INGRAMSPARK – CLIENT ATTEMPTS TO ADDRESS ISSUES
Dr Mitchell proactively made attempts to liaise with IngramSpark. This email and others like it were never responded to. This is part of a pattern of control.
CONTROL IS THE GREATEST DRIVER OF THE PREDATOR
Hanrahan now has full control of Human Predators internationally.
IngramSpark (Ingram Content Group) is fully colluding in prohibiting Dr Mitchell’s ability to make earnings from, engage with and have insight into her own book sales, distribution and earnings.
Dr Mitchell has no transparency, no earnings, no control of the content, no understanding of who is receiving the book and no means to sell the book on Amazon. Hanrahan has full control of sales, content, earnings, distribution, everything, enabled through collusion with IngramSpark.
Woodslane, Aus NZ book distributor to stores and online bookstores such as Amazon. (Collusion, control, blocking, entitlement)
Following cessation of Hanrahan’s consulting services on 30th June 26, Dr Mitchell asked Woodslane to liaise with her directly.
Woodslane refused because they said they had a contract with Hanrahan. Hanrahan’s client terms and conditions state his services can be terminated at any point (see here) so how could Hanrahan lawfully enter a long-term contract with a distributor on behalf of a client?
A letter was sent to Woodslane from Dr Mitchell’s lawyers asking them to deal directly with Dr Mitchell as the director of the publishing company printed on the book.
Woodslane again refused to deal with Dr Mitchell directly.
Woodslane even copied Hanrahan in on the response to the lawyer. They said: “We hold a contract with Publish Central which we would be in breach of to follow your instructions so will need to await Publish Centrals instructions.” All the power was again with Hanrahan.
Woodslane also said “We have put sales of the book on hold whilst we are waiting for said instructions [from Hanrahan].”
Woodslane also said “Michael has indicated he is in conversation with you.” When Hanrahan’s services were terminated, Dr Mitchell offered him several weeks to put everything straight. There was no conversation.
It was not until (48 hours) after Dr Mitchell wrote to the IngramSpark legal team and the Chairman of the International ISBN Agency that Hanrahan finally sent a letter to Dr Mitchell ‘proposing a solution’ which was just a tactic in a game that he clearly wanted to maintain control of.
ISBN AGENCIES – AUSTRALIA, USA, UK AND INTERNATIONAL (Blocking, delaying, colluding, entitlement, breaking rules, laws, codes, agreements)
Context
Every book has its own ISBN identifier number. Each version of a book (hard cover, ebook, soft cover, audio etc) gets its own ISBN number. Each new edition gets a new ISBN number.
Anyone can buy ISBN numbers. There are ISBN offices in over 200 countries.
The UK/Ireland ISBN office manages all the ISBN number information. Book sellers contact that office for publisher details if they want to stock books (CEO Andre Breedt).
The International ISBN Agency oversees the rules regarding ISBN numbers (Chairman Andre Breedt).
ISBN Australia
Dr Mitchell tried to order new ISBN numbers to create a second edition of her book as a way of addressing the current blocking and control issues.
She was blocked on numerous occasions.
Eventually Dr Mitchell was contacted by Mary of the Australian ISBN agency more than once and encouraged to buy ISBN numbers for another edition of the book.
Hanrahan and ISBN Agency manipulation
Once Hanrahan had full control of Human Predators internationally in collusion with IngramSpark, the ISBN agency stepped in to further consolidate and grow Hanrahan’s power and control.
Several times Dr Mitchell was advised to buy ISBN numbers for a second edition of her book however this would mean that Hanrahan had full control of the first edition. It is also questionable as to whether Dr Mitchell would be blocked from distributing a second edition of the book given the overriding power of the International ISBN Agency (specifically Andrew Breedt) and Dr Mitchell’s treatment by the publishing industry thus far.
DR MITCHELL WAS COMPLETELY THWARTED. Still, she kept trying.
ISBN USA
Dr Mitchell tried to buy ISBN numbers using her US details.
She was blocked from purchasing ISBN numbers in the US. This could only be because of a marker on her name or the title of her book.
ISBN NEILSONIQ (Keeper of ALL book-related publisher/distributor information in the world)
On July 7th Dr Mitchell wrote to ISBN NielsonIQ seeking that her publishing company details be rightfully connected with Human Predators, rather than Hanrahan’s.
She was told by Nabeel to purchase new ISBN numbers.
On July 8th, Dr Mitchell spoke to Luke of the ISBN NeilsonIQ.
Luke mentioned Hanrahan’s name before Dr Mitchell mentioned him in the conversation. There has already been collusion between the ISBN agency and Hanrahan.
Dr Mitchell was again advised to get another ISBN number (see follow up email below).
On July 10th, Dr Mitchell received lengthy correspondence from Eleanor of ISBN NielsonIQ summarised by the following:
“Publish Central will be recognised as the publisher of record for that ISBN”, and “In these circumstances, the most practical way to reflect the relationship is through the publisher statement within the book itself, for example: Published by Publish Central on behalf of Precinct Publications or Published by Publish Central in association with Precinct Publications.” See email below
Yet Hanrahan’s Terms and Conditions for the client clearly state on page 13:
“(a) you are the publisher of the book and you bear the full and ultimate responsibility for the publication, content and distribution of the books.”
Regarding the point that Hanrahan had not advised Dr Mitchell verbally or in writing that he would be seen as the publisher of Human Predators if ISBN numbers he purchased were used on her book, ISBN NielsonIQ kindly advised on Hanrahan’s behalf, that these details were apparently on Hanrahan’s website.
INTERNATIONAL ISBN AGENCY
FASCINATING ADVICE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL ISBN AGENCY
On the 8th July, Dr Mitchell spoke to Nick Woods of the International ISBN agency about having the ISBN numbers for Human Predators having Dr Mitchell’s publishing company details attached.
Mr Woods advised:
Dr Mitchell was ABSOLUTLEY THE PUBLISHER of Human Predators (in contrast to what was advised by the ISBN Nielson IQ) based on the International ISBN agency definition.
DO NOT PURCHASE ISBN NUMBERS FOR A SECOND EDITION. He understood and discussed the risk of losing the book entirely to Hanrahan if I bought ISBN numbers for a second edition.
The Agency policy is not to change metadata associated with ISBN numbers to maintain consistency regarding the publisher of each book [and yet Dr Mitchell’s publishing company and are printed on the book].
On the 28th July 26 Dr Mitchell wrote to the Chairman of the International ISBN Agency (see link here).
There has been no response as of 15th October (other than to say the letter was received)
FUNDAMENTAL MANIPULATION BY THE ISBN Agency
In some cases, the publisher of Dr Mitchell’s book has now been changed to her publishing company, which is what she has been seeking…..
HOWEVER
Hanrahan is listed as the distributor, so Hanrahan’s contact details are still associated with Human Predators.
COSTS TO DR MITCHELL
PREPARED ON 9TH AUGUST 2026 (IT IS NOW OCT SO THESE NUMBERS WOULD BE INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY)
The costs that have been incurred and lost are outlined below. All costs have supporting invoices, receipts, emails, time-stamped documentation and other records.
PR and advertising costs
An advertising campaign was developed to coincide with the book launch and first few months of availability. As book availability was continually postponed, patchy when it was available, and transparency regarding sales worsened, the advertising campaign was delayed. It is now redundant. Costs included $1232.00 for studio hire and $1000.00 plus $2080.00 plus $7,800.00 for creative concepts, development and design which total $10,880.00. Total = $12,112.00
A general media PR campaign targeting TV, radio, electronic press, trade publications, international podcasters and others was developed to coincide with the fest few weeks of book availability. The PR campaign implementation was delayed as issues with book availability continued and was never initiated. These costs are now redundant. Costs included $8,900.00 to a researcher to research, develop and operationalise media lists and $3,850.00 to a book publicist. Total = $12,750.00
A social media PR campaign was developed to preempt book availability, coincide with the book launch and to run several weeks after book availability. This included launching and building a following on Instagram two months before the book launch specifically for the purposes of book publicity. This campaign commenced but it was moderating as book delays occurred. It is now redundant as the book is not available. Books sales foregone internationally
Ebooks were removed from Amazon internationally after one day. Our client commenced selling ebooks from her website using only PayPal as a payment option. From the 25th June to 9th August 169 books were sold. Our client anticipates sales would have been at least twenty times this amount had the advertising campaign been implemented, the full PR campaign been rolled out, and the ebooks been available on Amazon and with credit card purchase facilities. Sales foregone to date, conservatively 3378 ebooks @ 30% of $19.99 = $22,296.85
Softcover books on Amazon international sold 956 copies from date of availability to 1st August. This was ALMOST ENTIRELY in the US. During this time, availability was patchy in the UK and non-existent in other countries and the search for our client’s book was manipulated to make it difficult to locate online. Our client anticipates sales would have been at least ten times this amount had the advertising campaign been implemented, the full PR campaign been rolled out, the books been continuously available in the UK, the books been available in other countries and the books been easier to locate with an online search. Sales foregone to date conservatively 10,000 soft cover books @ 30% of $34.95 = $104,850.00
Our client has had a huge demand for the audiobook version of Human Predators. The audiobook version would have been completed and available now had our client not been required to engage in a demanding and full-time battle to return her book to her control and been able to expedite the sales and marketing plan. Meetings and dates had already been established to commence this process. Sales foregone to date, conservatively 5000 audiobooks @ 30% of $29.99 = $44,985.00
Books Sales foregone internationally - $172,131.85
Book sales foregone Australia and New Zealand
Our client has a substantial following in Australia. Human Predators had the highest number of pre-orders of any book ever distributed by the largest Australian independent book distributor, Woodslane.
The costs forfeited by having our client’s book removed from availability at bookstores across Australia and New Zealand, not running the advertising campaign, not implementing the full PR campaign is substantial.
Sales foregone to date conservatively 2000 soft cover books @ 30% of $34.95 = $20,970.00 and conservatively 1000 audiobooks @ 30% of $29.99 = $8,997.00.
Total = $29,967.00.
Book sales foregone domestically - $29,967.00.
Training income foregone
The greatest cost of book delays, book sabotage and unlawful control of the book has been unrealised training, coaching and development programs. Dr Mitchell invested in 5 years of a PhD, 2 years of social media education and 2 years of book writing and production as a platform to prevent harm from human predators. Her plan was to ultimately deliver training programs in organisations to educate, prevent harm and support those being targeted. Sales foregone to date, conservatively 40 training programs @ an average of $1800 per participant = $72,000.
Training income foregone $72,000. Other costs
Our client was required to delay an overseas trip because of book delays, sabotage and unlawful control of the book. Flight change costs - $800.00.
Other costs foregone - $800.00
TOTAL LOSSES DUE TO INAPPROPRIATE AND POTENTIALLY ILLEGAL BEHAVIOURS
$321,097.40 as of 8th August 2026.
This number would be substantially higher as of the date of publishing this case study – 15th Oct 2026.
There has also been a huge cost to Dr Mitchell in terms of time and stress addressing the fall-out, unrealised publicity in the early days and workplace stress.
