Emily RossEmily Ross is a Senior Consultant with Kalmor. She specialises in researching the strategies and behaviours of best-practice organisations. Central to this are leadership issues including performance management, diversity, career development, retention strategies, flexible work and organisational change. She has extensive experience researching human resource policy and practice in major organisations, both locally and internationally within the private and public sectors. She has also analysed the career patterns of hundreds of individuals to identify the behaviours, skill sets and decision-making that drives high performance people. This work has allowed a deep understanding of the issues that organisations and individuals face in the modern workplace. Her insights into what motivates individuals and teams are further enhanced by her strong communication and analytical skills. As well as past roles as a senior writer and Leadership Editor of BRW magazine, Emily has written papers and spoken extensively on leadership in best-practice organisations. Emily Ross was one of the first mainstream business writers to recognise the importance of work/life balance issues and how diversity will transform organisations in the 21st century. Her research into senior women has also brought into the mainstream issues around the barriers to career success for women in corporate Australia. A key area of interest in her research has been in innovative products and services that drive organisational change. This led Emily to Kalmor Consulting and its unique programs, including Career Resilience and Success and Pre-Motherhood Career Resilience that she first encountered in 2004. Emily joined Kalmor in 2006 and now facilitates these widely acclaimed programs. Her role at Kalmor also involves business strategy and cultivating Kalmor's growing alliances with best-practice organisations around the world. She is currently co-ordinating the visit to Australia of Stephen Bevan, the Director of Research for The Work Foundation in London. Stephen Bevan has recently been recognised as one of the "100 Most Influential" in the world on human resources issues, along with the likes of Charles Handy, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Daniel Goleman and Tom Peters. |
